Terms and conditions
Using this site, in either sector, means accepting these. They were last revised on
08 October 2026.
WHO IS WHO
The site means www.isalvageauction.com, run by NARESH KUMAR TAGOTRA,
Surveyor and Loss Assessor, licence SLA 44837, of F 1827, Dogra Academy Lane, Shastri Nagar,
Jammu 180004, GSTIN 01ABUPT5543J1Z7.
A seller is whoever puts an item up: an insurance company or other organisation in the
insurance sector, or a surveyor, loss assessor or owner in the private sector.
A buyer is anyone registered on the site who makes an offer on a listing. One person may
act for himself and for others, registering separately in each capacity.
The insurance sector carries items put up by insurance companies, government bodies and
registered firms, where the site holds earnest money and the seller records a decision.
The private sector carries items put up by surveyors, loss assessors and owners. The site
provides the space; it holds no money against the item and makes no enquiry into either party.
GENERAL
Every item is offered as it is, where it is. The site gives no warranty as to the
accuracy, completeness, condition, title or fitness for any purpose of anything described in
a listing. What a listing says is what the seller has told us.
The seller decides. The highest offer gives no right to the item. A seller may
accept any offer, refuse them all, or withdraw a listing at any stage, without giving a
reason, and owes no compensation for doing so.
Buyers and sellers deal with each other. The site is not a party to any sale, does not
take possession of any item, and is not responsible for what either of them does. Both agree
to indemnify the site against any claim arising out of their dealings.
The site is not liable for any failure or delay beyond its control, including failure of
power, network, hosting or internet access at either end, nor for the content of any site
linked from here.
Users must obey the law, including as to taxes, and must not use the site for anything
unlawful. Manipulating the bidding – bidding through a second account or another
person, or arranging offers with other buyers – is forbidden, and an account used that
way is closed.
The site may change these terms, and the charges, at any time, and the current version is
the one shown here. A change does not affect money already deposited or a listing already
open.
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Jammu, Jammu and
Kashmir have exclusive jurisdiction. No claim may be brought more than one year after it
arose.
INSURANCE SECTOR – BUYERS
Earnest money before bidding. You may not offer on a listing until
15% of its expected price is with us and confirmed against our bank. We confirm
what our bank shows; a payment we cannot trace is not earnest money, however it was sent.
What you send is held as a balance in your name, not against one item. Bidding locks
that listing's share of it; the rest stays free for other listings.
No interest is payable on it. The money is held as a deposit, not as an investment
or a trust for your benefit, and the site may deal with it as it sees fit while it is held.
The site's liability is limited to returning the balance standing to your name – the
principal, less any charge or deduction properly made under these terms – and extends
to nothing further: no interest, no return on it, and no compensation for the period it was
held.
Every offer is inclusive of GST on the sale of the item. The expected price
shown on a listing, and the amount you offer against it, are the whole of what passes
between you and the seller for the item; no tax is added to an accepted offer
afterwards. The tax on the sale is a matter between you and the seller, who issues the
invoice for the item. The site's own charges are separate, are also inclusive of GST,
and carry the site's invoice.
Each offer must beat the leading offer on that item. An offer in the last five
minutes moves the closing time five minutes later, repeatedly, until five minutes pass with
no offer.
Our charges, taken when the listing is settled:
from every buyer who bid on it, a participation charge of
Rs 500.00, inclusive of GST;
from the buyer whose offer is accepted, in addition, 1% of his
winning offer, inclusive of GST.
You authorise us to take these out of the money we hold for you: the earnest money on that
listing first, then your free balance. A tax invoice is issued for each. If your money does
not cover a charge, you undertake to pay the difference on demand.
If your offer is accepted, the earnest money on that listing, less our
1%, is paid to the seller as part payment towards the item on your behalf,
and is not returned to you. You settle the balance with the seller direct, on his terms.
If you then do not honour your accepted offer, that money stays with the seller as
compensation and you have no claim to it. Its forfeiture is compensation for a loss, not
payment for any service, so no GST arises on it.
If your offer is not accepted, what remains of your earnest money after our charges
is released as soon as the listing is settled, and paid back to you by UPI on your asking.
We pay to the UPI id on your account, so keep it correct.
Where the seller refuses every offer and the best offer exceeded 90% of the expected
price, no buyer is charged anything and every buyer is refunded in full.
An account may be blocked for manipulating the bidding, for repeatedly failing to honour
accepted offers, or for giving false particulars. A blocked account cannot bid; money held
for it is dealt with under these terms.
INSURANCE SECTOR – SELLERS
By listing an item you confirm you are authorised to dispose of it, that the particulars
are true, and that the listing breaks no law. You appoint the site to provide the space and
to collect, hold and account for earnest money from buyers on your behalf.
The expected price you set, and every offer made against it, are inclusive of
GST on the sale of the item. You are to work the tax into the figure before you set
it, and to read the offers you receive the same way. The site adds nothing to an
accepted offer, deducts no tax from what it passes to you, and issues no invoice for the
item: that money is your own sale money collected on your behalf, and accounting for the
tax on the sale is yours.
You set the expected price. The earnest money a buyer must place is 15% of
it. You may add your own terms as a document shown to buyers, and you may extend the closing
time.
When bidding closes you record your decision on the site: accept one offer, or refuse them
all. The buyers are told, and the accepted buyer is put in touch with you.
On an accepted offer, the buyer's earnest money less our 1% charge to
him is paid to you, to the UPI id on your account, as part payment towards the item. If the
buyer then fails to honour his offer, you keep it.
Listing, extending and deciding are free. One charge applies: where you refuse every
offer and the best offer exceeded 90% of your expected price, you pay the site
Rs 100 for each bid placed on that listing, within a month of the refusal. Below 90%,
refusing costs nothing.
PRIVATE SECTOR
The site provides free space here and nothing more. It holds no money against a listing,
verifies neither party beyond what is stated below, and may remove any listing at any time.
Buyer and seller deal with each other entirely at their own risk.
Any registered buyer may make an offer, whether or not he is verified. An offer must
beat his own previous offer on that item.
A Genuineness Certified Account (GCA) is a deposit a buyer chooses to keep with the
site, at present Rs 20,000.00 or more, which is shown against his offers.
A one-time registration fee of Rs 5,000.00, inclusive of GST, applies when
it is first placed, and a charge of Rs 200.00, inclusive of GST, each
time it is added to. The deposit itself is not a charge and carries no GST.
The guarantee amount (GA) is the sum a verified buyer agrees may be taken out of his
GCA if a seller accepts his offer and he then fails to honour it. A seller may complain to the
site with particulars; the site decides the complaint after hearing the buyer, and its
decision binds both of them.
A GCA can only answer for one thing at a time. It may stand behind the earnest
money on an insurance sector listing, and a buyer's insurance bidding is charged first
against money he has paid in, then against his GCA. A buyer is shown as verified in the
private sector only while the part of his GCA not committed in this way is at least
2 times his guarantee amount. Below that his standing lapses by
itself and later offers are listed as unverified; it returns by itself when the GCA is
replenished or enough is paid in to free it. Offers already made are not altered.
A GCA is returned on request, less anything taken under the clause above, with no charge
for the refund. It is not returned while a complaint against it is being considered, or while
money of that buyer is locked against an open insurance sector listing. Taking the deposit
back ends the buyer's verified standing; registering again later attracts the fee
afresh.
A surveyor or loss assessor listing items is shown as verified only after the site has seen
a valid IRDAI licence. An unverified uploader is shown as such.
CLOSED RESULTS, CHARGES AND TAX
The full result of a closed listing – every offer with the amounts, and the parties'
contact details – is shown to the seller who listed it, to registered insurance
officials, and to the buyers who bid on it, to the extent set out on the page. Anyone else may
buy the result of one listing for Rs 100.00,
inclusive of GST.
All charges quoted on this site are inclusive of GST at the rate in force, and a tax
invoice is issued for each. Give us your GSTIN if you are registered, and the invoice carries
it so you may take the input credit.
Deposits – earnest money and the GCA – are not consideration for any supply and
carry no GST. Nor does money passed on to a seller, which is his own sale money collected on
his behalf.
What the site keeps about you. Your particulars, including your address, GSTIN
and UPI id, are kept so that we can invoice you, pay you, and let the other side of a
completed dealing reach you. They are not published. A listing shows your name and
your standing; your phone number and email address are shown only to those these terms
entitle to see them – the seller and buyer of the same item, insurance officials in
that sector, and anyone who has bought access to a closed result.
What is open to everybody. The particulars of the items themselves – the
description, the pictures, the location, the registration, chassis and engine numbers, the
nature of the loss, and the date a listing opened and closed – are public, are
indexed by search engines, and remain on the site after a listing closes. That is
deliberate, and by listing an item you agree to it. It serves the public:
- somebody offered a used vehicle described as undamaged can search its registration or
chassis number and find that it was once listed here as salvage, with photographs;
- police and other authorities looking into a vehicle can find the same record;
- insurers and surveyors can see what comparable salvage has fetched, and what was
wrong with it.
A seller who does not want an item's particulars to be public should not list it here.
The site will consider a written request to remove a listing where there is good reason, but
is under no obligation to do so, and cannot remove what search engines have already
copied.
